Congress and Assembly of Delegates Krakow, 16-20. May 2012
From 16 to 18. May has the ISIA Congress and the delegate meeting with a follow-up program up to 20. May in Krakow/Poland.
In addition to the assembly of delegates, the focus of the congress was on the elections and amendments to the statutes, health and safety in snow sports.
The congress theme as well as the delegate meeting met with great interest and all 39 member nations with over 120 participants could be welcomed by the president.
Congress topics
Health
Jean-Marc Gilliéron has succeeded in pointing out health promotion by practicing snow sports with a well-founded lecture (see website).
Safety
Vittorio Caffi has summarized the results of the Technical Event 2012 of Davos and, based on the safety module issued by the German Ski Instructors Association, pointed out the minimum skills necessary for ski instructors for riding off-piste.
The exact description for the minimum standard security for the ISIA brand and card should now definitely be worked out after the consultation.
The Assembly of Delegates
Elections
In total, there were 21 candidates for the 9 seats on the board. An open election, in which all 39 nations participated, resulted in the following result:
President: Riet R. Campell (CH)
Vice-President Europe: Vittorio Caffi (IE)
Vice President America: Martin Bacer (AR)
Vice President Asia: Yuichi Mabuchi (JP)
Owners: Gilles Chabert (F), Valentin Kidaisch (DE), Dave Renouf (GB), Richard Walter (AT)
Treasurer: Jiri Kotaska (CZ)
Auditors: Tomislav Sepic (HR), Frank Lund (DK)
I thank all those who have made themselves available for office and congratulate the elected. I am already looking forward to a good cooperation.
Statute revision
At the request of BASI 2 years ago, a revision of the statutes was opened and prepared for the DV. In addition to BASI (GB), France (SNMSF) has also submitted amendments to the statutes.
With the exception of BASI’s application for a name change from the Ski Instructors’ Association to the Snow Sports Instructors Association, all applications have been withdrawn.
The amendment to the name was clear by 74 to 16 votes and thus the statutes and regulations remain unchanged.
Application Austria for reporting ISIA-FEMPS
The Austrian Ski School Association submitted the request that the Bureau submit a detailed report to the Assembly of Delegates on the proceedings and the costs of ISIA’s action against FEMPS before the Munich Regional Court.
The Secretary General Dr. Hugo Reider has provided the necessary information that has been taken note of by the delegates. The proceedings were terminated by mutual agreement between the parties to the dispute.
This method is thus completed with ISIA-FEMPS.
With regard to the European professional card, the conditions for its introduction shall be negotiated bilaterally between the governments of the Member States and Brussels.
In the future, the ISIA will focus on the ISIA quality label in training with the ISIA Minimum Standard, the ISIA brand and ISIA Card, although these standards do not lead to automatic mutual recognition. Diploma recognitions can only be carried out by each other by the individual states.
Accounting for income
The 2011 invoice was budgeted with a loss of CHF 20’000.00. This could be completed with a loss of CHF 468.99. The assets amount to CHF 249’662.68.
New members
By acclamation, Korea (KSIA) was accepted as a member. We welcome our new member!
2013 World Cup
The ISIA World Cup was awarded to Andorra earlier. Unfortunately, they cannot carry it out and thus the 2013 World Cup was newly awarded to Bulgaria.
Adoption
Following the Assembly of Delegates, the members Dino Degaudenz, Björn Zeitz and Peter Monauni, who were no longer running for election, could be passed with a small gift.
It is important to us to thank our long-standing members of the Bureau with all their heart for their tireless commitment to the ISIA. Especially in recent years, the Bureau has not had it easy with the new situation in Europe. The introduction of the minimum standard in the ISIA, training checks and the structure of the database are just some of the tasks they have actively participated in.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR COMMITMENT!
Eduardo Roldan (ES) is also leaving the Bureau due to a lack of reactivation. He has always been committed to the Technical Events. We hope that he will be retained in the Commission for specific tasks.
Thanks
A special thanks goes to the organizers of the congress and connection program.
The congress was well organized and the hospitality very warm.
A special thank you goes to Zuzanna Podgorna, President of the SITN-PNZ, to Krzysztof Zieba her Vice President and to the entire team.
The supporting program with the visit of the salt mines, the city tram ride, the visits to the underground museum, the city president, the castle Wawell, the aviation and schindler museum was very impressive for everyone.
Prospects
For now, the website needs to be refreshed. During the summer, the first Bureau meeting will be convened with the constitution of the commissions and for the further processing of the various projects.
Certainly, the ideas presented in the elections of the newly elected Bureau member Gilles Chabert are also discussed and addressed.
I now wish all members a nice summer and those of the Southern Hemisphere a good start to the winter season.
