ISIA News, April 2020, Covid-19, new ISIA Database

Dear ISIA members,

We are still concerned about the worldwide spread of the “Covid-19” virus and the associated restrictions in our lives. At present, we must assume that this situation will continue to determine our lives and work in the individual countries as well as in international travel for some time. Our thoughts these days are directed to Australia, New Zealand, Argentina and Chile. The snow sports instructors in these countries are facing their winter 2020 and we wish them with their heart that they can experience a successful winter.

The one for the 12 to 14. The Bureau meeting in Prague, scheduled for March 2020, could not take place. Instead, the Bureau members met on 12.04.2020 for a video call online. The current projects are processed and further developed. The ISIA Office will continue to be staffed on Thursdays and Marina Wolf will handle all incoming inquiries and orders. Whether the next Bureau meeting in Jun 2020 will take place in Prague or online again will be decided by mid-May. Notwithstanding this, all members of the Bureau are working on their tasks so that we can present and decide on the promised results at the next delegate meeting.

The decision on the implementation of the next ISIA Assembly of Delegates, on how, when and where, the Bureau will decide by the end of June 2020. The Bureau is currently examining the different possibilities, closely monitoring the worldwide development around “Covid-19”, making a decision and then informing all ISIA members no later than three months before the meeting. Unfortunately, we cannot make a decision at this time, as there are simply too many uncertainties and restrictions in many countries.

The ISIA Database is currently being revised together with our new IT partner and we are making good progress with this. Currently, each ISIA member can use the ISIA Database unchanged via their access data, enter new snow sports instructors, change it or delete existing ones. Changes in the training structure or qualifications in the individual countries, on the other hand, are not possible, as well as the renewal of the individual status “active” or “not active”. With these changes, we still need to ask for a little patience until the new ISIA Database is unlocked. If you need assistance working with the ISIA Database, please contact the ISIA Office by email or by phone. In this context, the ISIA Bureau points out that, in accordance with the decision of the Assembly of Delegates in Pamporovo in 2019, the entries in the database decide on the number of voting rights at the next meeting.

Comes well through this difficult time, especially stays healthy and confident.

Many greetings

Dr. Vittorio Caffi Peter Hennekes
President Secretary-General
