
Dear ISIA members,
We are very pleased to announce that the International Ski Instructors Association (ISIA) has decided to commit to the “Sport for Climate Action Declaration”. In numerous measures together with our 37 member nations, we are already pursuing ambitious goals from our sustainability strategy in an ecological, social and economic view and thus motivate more than 150,000 snow sports instructors worldwide to behave responsible and resource-saving in and for nature in the sense of successful climate protection. For this reason, it is a matter of course for the ISIA to join the UN initiative “Sports for Climate Action”. We are pleased to receive further information and joint activities.
The ISIA supports the principles of the United Nations Sport for Climate Action Framework initiative. Considering the urgent need for cities, regions, businesses and investors around the world, ISIA will contribute to the implementation of the Paris Agreement and accelerate the change that is needed to achieve in the second half of the 21. Century of emission neutrality (i.e. climate neutrality) to achieve greenhouse gases.
The 5 principles are:
Principle 1: take systematic measures to promote greater environmental responsibility;
Principle 2: Reduce general climate impacts;
Principle 3: to clarify climate protection measures;
Principle 4: Promote sustainable and responsible consumption;
Principle 5: Entering into communication for climate protection.
With this declaration, we express our intention to implement the principles enshrined in the “Sports for Climate Action Framework” and commit ourselves to cooperation with our colleagues and relevant stakeholders in the development, implementation and improvement of the climate protection agenda in sport.
